Let’s face it… Promoting yourself on social media can be incredibly frustrating. This is what I hear from you all:

  • “As soon as I figure out the algorithm, it changes and I have to figure it out all over again.”
  • “Some posts reach hundreds of people and other posts reach two people.”
  • “Word of mouth is better.”
  • “I don’t want to do it but I know I should. Do you know someone who can run my social media page for me?!”

And I get it! Social media can be such a mystery and there are a lot of things at play like the algorithm, technology, and glitches. Not to mention you’re spending so much time working on it for little to no return. So what’s the answer!?

In comes EMAIL to literally save the day. E-mail is all of the things we want self-promotion to be! It’s easy, natural, fun, and you can be yourself. It also gets bonus points for being really effective.

So, for the month of July, we’re talking all about email. If you’re still not convinced, go back and read my previous article: 5 Reasons to Get Started with Email Marketing.

Naturally, picking an email marketing platform is the first place to start. And once you dive in, you’ll notice there are SO many different platforms to choose from. They all have different reviews, features, and pricing. It can be overwhelming to pick.

I want to take that overwhelm away by giving you my top 3 email platforms for Yoga Teachers. Let’s dive in!

The Top 3 Email Platforms for Yoga Teachers

#4 Klaviyo

Let’s start with #3. Klaviyo is an email platform I have used with some of my e-commerce clients in the past and it has so many capabilities.

Let’s start with who it would be good for:

  • The Yoga Teacher who is already a CEO
  • You’ve got a big email list
  • You have a lot of diverse offerings
  • You know you are growing towards something big
  • You are selling physical products

This is why I love Klaviyo:

  • It is incredibly user friendly. As soon as I got into the platform, everything made sense and I was able to hit the ground running.
  • They have a fabulous email editor with lots of capabilities to give your emails a professional look.
  • Their email flows are highly personalized and easy to set up
  • Reporting is great so you can see what works and what doesn’t
  • Their customer service is off the charts. If you have a paid account, the online chat is always there and they are very helpful for technical issues and questions.

Klaviyo isn’t for you if:

  • You’re just getting started and want to keep it simple

Klaviyo Pricing:

The awesome thing about Klaviyo is it’s free for up to 250 contacts and 500 email sends. This is a great way to try the platform out and see if you like it.

Otherwise, Klaviyo is still fairly inexpensive. It’s $20 a month if you have 500 contacts and you can send up to 5,000 emails.

Overall, Klaviyo is an awesome option for someone who is really building something big. If you are looking for something simpler, keep reading.

#3 Active Campaign

Active Campaign is what I currently use as my email platform. I switched over about 6 months ago and have really enjoyed using it.

Here’s who would love Active Campaign:

  • The Yoga Teacher who is just getting started
  • You want to send email automations and email campaigns
  • You want to set up multiple lists for different events and student groups
  • You want to easily create professional emails without the hassle

This is why I love Active Campaign:

  • I’ve found it to be just about as user friendly as Klaviyo is. It’s easy to dive in and get started.
  • They have great customer service too! Every customer gets free support.
  • Their list feature makes it really easy to have different students and clients separated for email sending
  • Their site dashboard gives a nice overview into list growth and the success of email sending

Active Campaign isn’t for you if:

  • You want to create landing pages for events, waitlists, or freebies. This is something that has frustrated me about Active Campaign. If you want to create landing pages, you have to pay $187 a month. That’s $160 more than the basic plan! Crazy.

Active Campaign Pricing:

I like Active Campaign’s pricing because you can do a lot for $15 a month. If you want additional capabilities, they don’t have enough pricing tiers for it to make sense. Once you want to level up, the price jumps to $70/mo. Something to consider!

Generally, I’ve enjoyed using Active Campaign but in the end, I may end up switching platforms in order to have the capability to create landing pages.

#2 Convertkit

My #1 choice at the moment is Convertkit. I have used it in the past for my own work as well as client work and it has it all.

Convertkit would be great for:

  • The Yoga Teacher who is building a brand
  • You want email campaigns, automations, and landing pages
  • You want to be able to easily separate your email lists for different events and classes
  • You want to easily create professional landing pages and email designs

Convertkit isn’t for you if:

  • You aren’t willing to put in some leg work at the beginning. There’s a bit of a learning curve with Convertkit so you have to learn how to navigate certain parts of the platform before it will really start working for you.
  • You like customer support. Their customer support is not optimal. They don’t have a live chat so sometimes you have to wait hours before you get a response from their support team.

Convertkit Pricing:

You can easily add Convertkit to your business for $15/mo and get almost all of the capabilities they offer. Convertkit really is worth that price for all that it will offer you.

In the end, Convertkit is a top contender for your next email platform. It will give you everything you need and a little more to begin email marketing and ultimately, to scale your business.

#1 MailerLite

As I was writing this article and researching email platforms, a client came to me and let me know about MailerLite and I fell in love. As soon as I signed in, I was really impressed with the user experience and customer service. It was like a breath of fresh air after experimenting with previous platforms!

MailerLite is the best of all of these platforms and perfect for really ALL Yoga Teachers.

Mailerlite would be great for:

  • The Yoga Teacher who is building a brand
  • You want email campaigns, automations, and landing pages
  • You want to be able to easily separate your email lists for different events and classes
  • You want to easily create professional landing pages and email designs from easy templates

Mailerlite Pricing:

Right now, I am enjoying a 30 day free trial of Mailerlite. For 30 days, you get access to all the pro features so you can play around and see what you think.

The pricing goes to either $9 or $19 a month depending on your needs. That’s a great deal!

As soon as I got to Mailerlite I wanted to tell you about it. Overall, this is my top recommendation for you.

If you’re ready to try Mailerlite, use this link to sign up and you get $20 when you register.

I hope this list helps you pick out a platform so that you can dive into the wonderful world of email marketing. If you have a question about what platform is right for you, you’re welcome to email me at info@yogawithdella.com.

I encourage you to make this a goal in the coming week or month. Set up your email platform, add your current list, and then we will dive into growing your list!
